Srinagar: The Metereological Department (MeT) on Tuesday predicted fresh spell of rain from 31 March to 2 April.

Director MeT Sonum Lotus said that currently weather is generally cloudy in Ladakh and Kashmir and mainly clear in Jammu region. However he predicted fresh spell of rain from 31 March to 2 April.

“A fresh spell of intermittent light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of J-K and Zojila, Drass and some areas of Zanskar region of Ladakh is likely hit from 31 March night to 2 April forenoon.

He said that thunderstorm with strong gusty winds of the order of 30-40 KMPH will occur likely during above period, he said and added, “in view of this, farmers are informed to postpone spraying of their orchards, prepare drainage to drain excess water from their fields”.

MeT Director also appealed people to stay indoors to take care of yourself and other family members by using of sanitizers and wash hands regularly in wake of COVID-19 outbreak. (KNS)
