Srinagar: A youth was injured after stabbed by two men in Rajbagh area of Srinagar district on Wednesday.

A senior police officer told a local news agency Kashmir Scroll that a youth was attacked by two men with a knife near Zero Inn Rajbagh, leaving him injured.

He said that the injured youth has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After the incident, the accused jumped into river Jhelum to escape. However, they were arrested by BSF, he said.

“One boy Haseeb Bhat of Sonwar was stabbed with a knife by two 17 year old juveniles (name withheld) one from Sonwar, other from Rajbagh. FIR No 22/2023 U/s 341,323,307,34 of IPC at Kothibagh PS. Accused arrested & weapon of offence recovered. Victim has arm injury & is stable,” the police later tweeted.

The officer further said that the case has been registered in this regard, and further investigation is on. (KS)
