One militant and Assistant Sub Inspector of J-K police were killed in the ongoing gunfight at Panthachowk in the outskirts of Srinagar district.

An unnamed senior Police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), that one militant has been killed in ongoing gunfight, however identity of the militant is yet to be ascertained.

He further said that the ASI who was earlier critically injured succumbed to his injuries in 92 Base hospital. Till this report was being filed intermittent firing was going on.

Earlier, three bike-borne militants had attacked a joint team of police and CRPF near Panthachowk in which no damage was done, they said. (GNS)
