A Special Police Officer (SPO) shot himself dead with his service rifle in the Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning, official sources said.
A local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), reported that SPO identified as Gurmesh Singh, a resident of Gandoh, shot himself with his service rifle at Sessions Court Doda leading to his on-spot death.
Confirming the incident, a police official said that investigations into the matter have been taken up to ascertain the possible reason for the individual taking such an extreme step. (GNS)
