Another militant was killed in the gunfight that broke out between the government forces and militants in Gulshan Abad Reban area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday, taking the toll to three.

An unnamed official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that three unidentified militants belonging to Lashkar-i-Toiba have been killed after recovery of one more militant body from the debris.

Earlier, a joint team of the army’s 22 Rashtriya Rifle, Special Operation Group Sopore and 179 BN of Central Reserve Police Force, 177 BN, 92 BTN, Baramulla Quick Reaction Team, and the police cordoned off Reban village.

“As the forces intensified the searches, the hiding militants in the area opened fire, resulting in a gunfight,” he said. (KNO)
