Srinagar: A socio-political worker was injured after he was shot at outside his house in Draj village of Kotranka in Rajouri district, late last night.

The injured has been identified as 36-year-old Ranjit Singh son of Prem Singh, a resident of Draj village of Kotranka in Rajouri district.

Local news gathering agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) quoting unnamed officials reported that at around 12 AM last night, unknown gunmen fired at Singh, outside his house. “He sustained a bullet wound,” the official said.

The injured was evacuated to the hospital by his family members and neighbours. “From CHC Kandi, he was referred to GMC Rajouri and is under treatment”, officials said.

They said that a case under relevant sections of law have been registered in the matter and investigation is going on—(KNO)
