Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Bemina got only four ventilators while the hospital had paid for the procurement of twelve ventilators last year, reveals a reply to the Right to Information query.
The official figures state that the SKIMS Bemina had submitted payment for procuring twelve ventilators; however, from March to November 2020, it had received and installed only four.
SKIMS Bemina is yet to receive at least eight ventilators of which payment has been submitted five months back.
As of now, SKIMS Bemina has received and installed two units of MRI compatible ventilators (Transport)—Model: Parapac Plus 310 (Smiths Medical) and two units of portable ventilators—Model: Meditec 1700 manufactured by Meditec England.
This information was revealed by the Materials Manager Officer (MMO) of SKIMS Bemina in a reply to Right to Information (RTI) queries.
Meanwhile, the department also said that a total number of 1469 COVID-19 positive patients were admitted and examined and 75 deaths were recorded from 01-03-2020 to 30-11-2020.
SKIMS officials also said that it resumed Outpatient Department (OPD) services from 2 November 2020 and in the month 1182 OPD patients were seen. (KNO)
