Six injured in two separate accidents in J-K

Six persons were killed in two road accidents in Jammu region on Monday.

Four persons were killed after a vehicle skidded off the road and filliped in the air falling into a gorge near Galgander Pul area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.

Official sources said that five persons including the driver were on board in an Alto car (JK02AA-6186) when the mishap occurred.

They said all five persons including a couple and mother-son duo were shifted to hospital among which 4 succumbed to their injuries while one injured is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Satya Devi Wife of Naseeb Singh, her son Vikram Singh, Lakh Raj and his wife Satisha Devi, all residents of Shiva. The injured has been identified as Naseeb Singh.

The vehicle was completely damaged in the accident.

Meanwhile in another road accident a Swift car (JK14E-0630) on way from Pul Doda towards Bhadarwah, skidded off the road near Mughal Market Parnoo sector Bhalla and rolled down about into Neru river.

Two persons identified as Sajad Ahmad of Bhalara Bhadarwah and the driver Ravinder Kumar of Bhaderwah died while the third passenger, identified as Piyush Manhas son of Raj Kumar of Himot Bhaderwah sustained injuries and was shifted to GMC Doda.

The body of the driver Ravinder Kumar of the ill-fated vehicle is still missing and an operation is underway to locate his body from the river. (KNT)
