Four militants of Lashker-e-Toiba outfit were killed and an army trooper injured in a gunfight in Manihal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Inspector-General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar confirmed to a local news gathering agency Global News Service (GNS) that four militants of LeT were killed while as one army personnel recieved bullet wound in foot in the gunfight at Manihal.
However, the identity of the killed militants is yet to be ascertained, IGP added.
One AK-47 rifle and two pistols were recovered from the militants.
Earlier, reports reaching said that a joint team of Police, Army and 178 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation in Manihal.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)
