Shiv Sena party’s Kashmir president and councilor municipality Budgam, Abdul Khaliq Bhat has died of Covid-19 at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in Srinagar on Friday morning.

An official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Abdul Khaliq Bhat son of Habibullah Bhat was hospitalised this week after he tested positive for COVID-19.

He said that Bhat was the Shiv Sena party’s Kashmir president and a councilor from Ward No. 6 (Alipora) area of Chadoora.

He said that Bhat was a resident of Doyan Chadoora and residing at hotel Dolphin for the last seven years.

The official said that Bhat died at the SMHS hospital and his body was yet to reach his native village. (KNO)
