Srinagar: In a shocking incident in north Kashmir’s Uri, a 50-year old woman ended her life on Saturday morning after her husband’s body reached home.

The deceased woman is a resident of Saidpora, Uri.

A local news gathering agency Global News Service (GNS) quoting unnamed officials reported that one 50-year old Aulad Ali Shah s/o Mang Shah was admitted to Government Medical College Baramulla and died this morning due to heart attack.

Later when his dead body reached home and people were preparing for his last rites, her wife consumed some poisonous substance and was shifted to Sub District Hospital Uri were doctors declared her dead.

Aulad Ali was an empolyee of Jammu and Kashmir Grameen bank and was posted at Pringal Boniyar Branch.

“As per the primary investigation, it came to fore that the woman couldn’t bear the loss of her husband and had consumed some poisonous substance, ” Station House Officer Uri Mohammad Ashraf told GNS.

“We are investigating the matter yet,” he said, adding, “The body will be handed over to the family after completion of  the legal formalities.”(GNS)
