Police in central Kashmir’s Budgam have urged people, especially internet users not to share WiFi or hotspot connections with strangers.

Police said that the offering of these connections can land people in trouble as strangers can misuse it.

Police added that criminals and subversive elements are using WiFi and hotspot of others to communicate with each other and indulge in subversive activities.

“Netizens of Budgam are advised to act as responsible citizens while using the internet and not to provide wifi /hotspot connection to strangers otherwise action under law shall be taken against them if found to be an act of communication for subversive activities,” police said and requested people to keep strong passwords and frequently change them.
