“Rancho Khan” tracked in Srinagar, arrested by police

Srinagar: Ganderbal Police arrested one person, going by the name — Rancho Khan on Facebook, for “using abusive language/threat comment on the official Facebook account of District Police Ganderbal,” the police said.

In a statement issued here, the police said that a case FIR number 74/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation was initiated.

“During the investigation of the case, the Facebook account named as “Rancho Khan” was tracked by Ganderbal police by using modern techniques,” said the police. “The account was traced and it surfaced that the account is operated by one person namely Tawseef Ahmad son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Padshahi Bagh Tilwanpora, Srinagar.”

Ganderbal police also warned the “rumour and hate mongers” to refrain from misuse of social media platforms. “Any person found indulging in such activities will be dealt strictly under law,” the police added.
