Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police has filed a charge-sheet against a woman, who was earlier held along with threatening posters of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a militant outfit, in Handwara, north Kashmir, during a naka checking.

In a statement issued here, the police said the FIR pertains to the incident dated 26 October 2019, wherein a woman was apprehended at a naka with threatening posters of militant outfit LeT and other incriminating material at Market Handwara and she was booked in the case later.

After conclusions of the investigation, the chargesheet was filed before the competent Court by Handwara Police U/s 20,38,39 UA(P) Act and substantive offences thereof subsequent to obtaining necessary government sanction for prosecution under UA(P)Act, reads the statement.

The statement furthermore reads that the chargesheet has been filed against Haseena Begum, a resident of Sheeri, Baramulla, for being a member of militant outfit LeT, and giving support to the said proscribed militant outfit.

Handwara police in this regard has registered a case FIR No 281/2019 of Police Station Handwara and had initiated investigation into the matter. (KNO)
