Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday detained Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Naeem Akhtar this evening from his home.
The party president Mehbooba Mufti said, “J-K admin is on an arrest spree today. PDP’s Nayeem Akhtar, too, has been abducted by J-K police and is being taken to MLA hostel. Looks like BJP is planning to manipulate DDC results tomorrow and doesn’t want any resistance. Democracy is being murdered in J&[email protected]_ @JmuKmrPolice.” She tweeted.
Meanwhile, a family member of Akhtar while talking to The Kashmir Walla said, “They just came home, told him you have to come with us. He asked for any orders but they had nothing to show. He has been detained.”
Earlier in the day, two senior leaders of PDP were detained. The development comes ahead of the District Development Council (DDC) elections results, on Tuesday.
