The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has called for a meeting on August 24 to discuss and deliberate on the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
The meeting has been called at the residence of the amalgam president and National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) quoted the PAGD spokesperson Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami as saying.
It reported that the constituents of the PAGD have been asked to also bring their senior-most leaders to the meeting.
Tarigami, as per KNS refused to give further details and said it would be “a simple meeting to discuss the current situation”.
The PAGD, which comprises several unionist political parties of Jammu and Kashmir, last met on 4 August 2021 at Farooq Abdullah’s residence.
The alliance was formed in October 2020 to fight for the restoration of the limited autonomy of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
