One of the three Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants killed in Tral gunfight today has been identified as Wakeel Shah, who was involved in the killing of BJP leader Rakesh Pandita earlier this year, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said. He said the identity of the other two militants is being ascertained.
Three militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in the forest area of Nagbaeran Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“One of the slain has been identified as Wakeel Shah of JeM, who was involved in the killing of BJP leader Rakesh Pandita,” news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) quoted the IGP Kashmir as saying.
