Srinagar: Amit Shah on Thursday said that there is no role of Centre in the detention of political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, a news gathering agency PTI reported.

Shah further said that the detention of the leaders is taken by local administration of Jammu and Kashmir.

They political leaders have been in detention since 5 August, when the Centre abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

Many mainstream leaders have been released from the detention but many leaders continue to remain in detention including three chief ministers — Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are yet to be released.
