Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted raids in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and arrested a youth from Drabgam village of the district, officials said.

Sources said that NIA conducted raids at several houses including the residential places of militants. “The house of top Jaish-e-Muhammad commander Zahid Ahmad Wani in Karimabad Pulwama was also raided in this morning,” reported wire-service KNO.
It has also been learnt that the house of one Ali Muhammad Bhat of Drabgam village was also raided.
Sources said that Bhat’s son identified as Zubair Ahmad Bhat was arrested during the raids, adding that Bhat’s another son, Muntazir Ali is allegedly involved in Nagrota attack and is having links with JeM militants, saying that in absence of Muntazir, Zubair has been taken into the custody. Muntazir as per sources is studying outside Valley.
Furthermore, sources said that the raid was also conducted at house of Sameer Ahmad Dar of Gundibagh Kakapora, driver by profession, who was arrested during Nagrota encounter.
Sameer is cousin of slain militant Aadil Ahmad, who carried out a deadly suicide attack at Lethpora Pulwama in which 40 CRPF men were killed. (KNO)
