Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference party’s office near Srinagar’s Zero Bridge was sealed on marking the 4th anniversary of the revocation of the erstwhile state’s limited autonomy.
“True to form and in keeping with the clampdown on mainstream democratic activities organised by parties opposed to 5th Aug 2019, the JKNC office has been sealed by the police,” the party said in a statement. “No one is being allowed in or out of the office.”
“These steps betray the nervousness of the administration and render hollow their claims regarding great improvements in the last 4 years,” the statement added.
Earlier, the PDP’s president and other senior leaders of the party were kept under house arrest.
