Srinagar: A five-year-old minor girl from central Kashmir’s Budgam district was killed in a road accident on Saturday evening.
Officials said that a speedy tipper bearing registration number JK03D-6687 driven by Ghulam Hassan Ganie, son of Ghulam Ahmad of Nasoou Bandipora hit and injured a minor girl identified as Rutba Jan daughter of Abdul Rashid Bhat Hakarmulla Budgam, at Chewa area of Bandipora.
However, the injured was shifted to nearby hospital for treatment where from she was shifted to JVC hospital Srinagar but she succumbed to her injuries on the way, they said.
After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
A police official confirmed the incident and said that the driver has been arrested while the vehicle has also been seized. He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered. (KNO)
