Police on Tuesday said that militants managed to escape after brief gunfight in Reban Zainapora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A top police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), that after the intial contact was established with the hiding militants, there was complete lull in firing from both sides.
The searches continued throughout night, however, no militant was found at the gunfight site. It seems that due to darkness militants believed to be two in number managed to escape, the officer added.
Yesterday late night, a gunfight ensued between militants and government forces in Reban area of Shopian.(GNS)
