Srinagar: Government forces on Saturday arrested a militant during an ongoing cordon-and-search operation at Bulgam area of Sopore in north Kashmir.

A police officer told that acting on a specific information, a joint team of army’s 52 RR, CRPF and SOG launched a search operation at Bulgam village today evening.

While conducting searches in the village, the forces apprehended one militant namely Danish Ahmad Kakroo who hails from Chesti Colony Old town Baramulla, the officer said. “Initial probe suggests that he had joined militant ranks only yesterday”.

He said that searches are under way to trace out another militant from south Kashmir. (GNS)
