Srinagar: The Ministry of Home Affairs Friday ordered all the states and union territories to allow special trains to ferry the stranded people across the county after proper guidelines from Ministry of Railways.

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued the order about run of special trains and asked Ministry of Railways (MoR) to issue detailed guidelines and protocols.

In an order, issued by Ministry Of Home Affairs, it said, “Movement of migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places is also allowed by special trains to be operated by Ministry of railways (MoR).”

“Ministry of railways will designate nodal officers for coordination with state/UTs for their movement MoR will issue detailed guidelines for sale of tickets and for social distancing and other safety measures to be observed at train stations, train platforms and within trains,” it said.

It further said, “The rest of conditions stipulated for movement of persons vide Sub-clause (iv) [a,b,c,ef] will continue to apply to such movement.” (KNO)
