Weatherman on Tuesday predicted light rains and snowfall at isolated places during 23 and 24 December and widespread snowfall during 27-28 in Kashmir valley on account of Western Disturbances.

A meteorological department official told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that Western Disturbance is going to affect Jammu and Kashmir from Wednesday afternoon onwards.

Under its influence, light rain/snow can occur at a few places between 23 and 24 afternoon. A short moderate spell in higher reaches can’t be ruled out, the official said.

As per the official, another Western Disturbance, will affect J-K from 26th evening due to which plains in Kashmir may receive season’s first light to moderate widespread snowfall at most places on December 27-28.
