An elderly man was injured in a bear attack in the Zamboor Patan area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Official sources said that the man, Qalander Shah (around 70-year-old) son of Mehtab Shah suffered multiple injuries when a bear attacked him while he was in his Behak (makeshift house especially for summers).

The injured was later shifted to GMC Baramulla, they said.

A police official confirmed the incident to a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), and said that Shah’s condition was ‘largely stable’. (GNS)
