Jammu and Kashmir police in Doda district of Chenab valley have arrested a man and recovered an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) from his possession.
Police in an official statement issued to a local news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that on the basis of specific input generated by Doda police, a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched on Monday by District Police Doda and troops of 10 RR and CRPF 33 Battalion in Kastigarh area.
“During search, the operation party recovered explosive material (IED device) along with one mobile phone and other incriminating material from the house of one suspect namely Irshad Ahmed, son of Muhammad Yousuf of Dhandal Kastigarh,” police said.
A case under FIR number 116/2022 under section 13/18/39 UAPA, 4/5 Explosive substance Act has been registered at Police Station Doda and the suspect has been arrested and investigation of the case is going on and more arrests as well as recoveries are expected in the instant case, police said.
