Police on Friday evening said that it has arrested a fraudster for duping students on the pretext of  MBBS admission in Iran.

In a couple of tweets, the Srinagar police on its social media handle wrote, “A fraudster Syed Abas shah S/o Syed Yousuf Shah R/o wahabpora Budgam running educational consultancy ‘Dr Minds’ at parraypora in lieu of payment. FIR no. 65/2023 u/sections 468,420 of IPC in sadder PS (sic).”

“Students got to know of cheating & forgery after landing in Tehran & spending months there without any admission even after paying in lakhs to this Fraudster. Public is requested not to fall prey to such fraudsters running consultanties and duping students, job aspirants etc(sic),” reads the tweets. (GNS)
