The loud explosions due to the fire incident created havoc in the middle of the night in the Barosa area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Official sources said that fire broke out from a provisional store that engulfed two other adjacent shops. They said that a couple of gas cylinders went off creating panic in the area.

People assembled on the spot and informed police and firefighters who doused the fire after hard efforts.

All the goods lying in these three shops were destroyed. Initial assessment reveals that property worth over 10 lakhs has been damaged.

The shopping complex belonged to Abdul Gani Teli son of Noor Muhammad, a resident of Barosa Ganderbal.

Police have registered a case to ascertain the cause of the fire. (KNT)
