A thirty-two-year-old man from Uri in north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district has gone missing on his journey to Srinagar for over a week now, with family seeking help from the public to locate the whereabouts of the person. 

The missing person has been identified as one Abdul Khalid son of Sadar-ud-Din Khattana, a resident of Kundi Birjala, a village falling in proximity to Line of Control. 

Khalid, according to family sources, is a labourer, who left home on morning of 5 February for Srinagar to bring some medicines. “Once we tried to enquire of his journey, the mobile number reverted ‘Switch Off’ response and remains as such for a week now”, they said. 

The missing person’s nephew Rukhsar Ahmad has requested the general public to inform the family if anyone has any clue of whereabouts about him [missing person].

A senior police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that a ‘Missing Report’ has been registered at Police post Kamalkote, Uri and all possible efforts put underway to trace the missing person. (GNS)
