Wildlife officials captured a leopard alive in Balhama area of Srinagar outskirts after on Saturday, officials said.

A wildlife official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a leopard was roaming in residential area of Balhama area of Sempora, Pantha Chowk on Srinagar outskirts. “Our team with guns visited the area and captured the leopard alive,” the official said, adding that locals of the area informed them that a wild leopard was roaming in residential area of Balhama and posing a threat for the locals especially children.

Altaf Hussain, a local told KNO that the leopard was spotted early morning in the area after which they informed the wild life officials, who dealt with the animal professionally.

“The animal was captured without shooting him. The officials cast the net on the leopard and caught him alive,” he said—(KNO)
