Srinagar: The auspicious festival of Eid-ul-Fitr shall be celebrated in Kashmir tomorrow after the lunar crescent was sighted today evening.
Announcements were made on loudspeakers in multiple locals mosques, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan in Kashmir. The moon was also sighted in Muslim-majority neighboring countries.
However, this Eid would be different due to the on-going COVID-19 lockdown to contain the spread of the virus. The mosques will also remain closed and mass gathering will not be allowed.
Many clerics and preachers have advised to maintain physical distance and offer prayers at home.
