Uncle of journalist Qayoom Khan, Farooq Ahmad Khan, 42, passed away after a prolonged illness in Rahmoo village of Pulwama in south Kashmir on Tuesday morning.

Ahmad is survived by his wife and three children. His Rasme-e-chahrum will be observed at Rahmoo on Friday.

Shopian-Pulwama Working Journalists’ Guild (SPWJG) has expressed grief over the demise of Khan and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

In a statement, the guild stated that they stand with the bereaved family and that they also held joint condolence meet in Pulwama.

“The members of the Guild prayed for the eternal rest to the deceased and prayed Almighty to give the entire family courage to bear the irreparable loss,” the statement read.
