A Junior Commissioned Officer of army was killed while another trooper was injured in an ongoing gunfight in Thanamandi area in Rajouri district.
“One JCO of Rashtriya Rifles received serious bullet wound. He was shifted to a nearby medical facility where he later succumbed to his injuries,” news agency GNS reported, quoting a PRO defence.
The gunfight broke out in Kalas area of Thanamandi between militants and a joint team of police and army today morning following a cordon and search operation that was launched yesterday after reports of suspicious movement.
