Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that projects worth Rs 1,25,000 crore are being proposed for Jammu and Kashmir and in the next ten years, UT’s road network will match with that of the United States. 

Talking to reporters on the side-lines of a press conference in Srinagar, Gadkari said that in J-K projects worth Rs 1, 25,000 crore are being proposed that includes tunnels, roads, and highways. “In next ten years, J-K’s road network will match with the United States,” Gadkari said.

He said from Khanabal to Chandwari in Pahalgam, two lane roads will be constructed to facilitate Yatris while as from Panjtarni to Cave shrine of Amarnath, a tunnel will also be constructed with all pilgrim protection facilities.

The Union Minister said that on Mughal road, a two-lane road will be constructed and at the Peer Ki Gali, a tunnel will also come up to make the road an all weather road. (KNO)
