Srinagar: A non-governmental organisation conducted a workshop on mental health at Government Higher Secondary School, Zainakote, Srinagar.
J-K Centre for Peace and Justice Foundation (JKCPJ) mental health expert Syed Manaal Andrabi addressed school children and discussed the importance of mental well-being and the need to openly speak about it.
She discussed various issues like exam pressure, and drug abuse that is rising amongst youth and needs medical attention and counseling.
“The students and teachers expressively highlighted their concerns and challenges with our mental health expert and were delighted with this initiative,” JKCPJ said in a statement.
It added: “The administration thanked the team JKCPJ for enlightening the students and assured the Director of the collaboration for future endeavours.”
The independent NGO has been advocating the redressal of different global challenges under which the centre started the initiative of raising mental health awareness across different schools in Jammu and Kashmir.
