Srinagar: A lady injured in a scuffle between two families in Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district three days ago succumbed at SKIMS Soura on Thursday morning.

Official sources told 40-year-old lady Saja Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Shampora was admitted at SKIMS Soura on April 27 after being seriously injured in a scuffle between two families at Shampora in Qazigund.

Station House Officer (SHO), Qazigund A Q Peerzada confirmed the death of lady due to a scuffle.

After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased will be handed over to next of her kin for last rites, he said.

“A case under FIR 117/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations initiated,” the officer added. (KNO)
