With the slightest dip in COVID-19 cases for the second straight day, India has recorded 3,29,942 fresh cases taking the toll to 22,992,517 in the last 24 hours.

As per the Union Health Ministry, the death count has reached 250,025 as the country reported 3,876 in the last 24 hours. The active cases in the country are 37,15,221 and the total recoveries are 19,027,304.

The official government data says that the total number of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began is 22,992,517 with a 250,025 death count, however, it is believed to be a vast undercount.

The United States remains the worst-hit country followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey. So far, the pandemic has claimed over 3.2 million lives worldwide.

India is fighting a second outbreak of deadly coronavirus infections that has brought the country’s already weakened healthcare system to its knees.
