Poonch: The armies of India and Pakistan on Tuesday late evening exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector of Poonch district.

Official sources were quoted by a news gathering agency – GNS, saying that Pakistani troopers on Tuesday evening resorted small to heavy shelling on Indian Army posts along line of control at Balakote sector which was retaliated effectively.

Locals reports said that panic gripped in the area in afternoon when the heavy shelling took place from both the sides.

An army official was also quoted confirming that the firing incident was reported along the Line of Control (LOC) in Balakote sector. He said no loss of life or injury was reported in the shelling.
