Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished his Pakistan counterpart Imran Khan on Pakistan’s national day.

In a letter addressed to Pakistan Prime Minister Khan, PM Modi has said, “As neighbouring country, India desires cordial relations with the people of Pakistan. For this, an environment of trust, devoid of terror and hostility, is imperative.”

PM Modi has also conveyed his best wishes to people of Pakistan for dealing with the challenges of COVID-19.

The top leadership of India has maintained the practice of greeting the people of Pakistan and its leaders on their national day on March 23 and Independence Day on August 14.

Earlier, PM Modi had also wished Khan for speedy recovery as he tested positive for COVID-19.
