Indian Army clashed with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh’s Pangong Tso again on the intervening night of 29 and 30 August after New Delhi said that “[People’s Liberation Army] violated the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements during an ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh”.
Col Aman Anand, Public Relation Officer, Army, said that China’s PLA “carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo.”
In a statement, the army quoted Col Anand saying that Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity on the southern Bank of Pangong Tso Lake, undertook measures to strengthen our positions and thwart Chinese intentions to unilaterally change facts on ground. (ANI)
