Forest department has seized a vehicle carrying illicit timber and arrested its driver in Najwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said here on Saturday.

Range Officer Sindh Forest Division, Rather Muneer told a local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday they laid a naka at Najwan, during which one suspicious load carrier was stopped and it was found that the load carrier driven by Irfan Ahmad Parrey son of Ghulam Nab Parrey of Barwalla Kangan was carrying 05 logs of timber measuring about 30-35 feet.

He said that illicit timber was later seized along with the vehicle and driver was also arrested—(KNO)
