Srinagar: Two days after a man from north Kashmir was buried under snow after an avalanche hit Chak Nallah area of Bandipora district, the rescue operation launched by the authorities to retrieve his body was suspended temporarily on Monday afternoon, officials said.

Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) Gurez, Muhammad Abdullah said the minor avalanche struck again the area where the rescue operation was going on from last two days.

He said the after the minor avalanche, the rescue operation was suspended temporarily as it was hampering the operation.

SDM Gurez further stated that a number of rescue teams were on the job to trace the missing person who was buried under snow.

He identified the missing person as Javid Ahmad Lone, resident of Dangithal area of Tulail. (KNO)
