A non-local driver was killed after a heavy shooting stone hit a apple laden vehicle along Mughal road this afternoon, officials said.

Official said that one Toffiq Ahmad son of Qurban Ali, resident of Sitapur Uttar Pradesh, died on spot after a truck bearing registration number UP32MN 1224 he was driving was hit by a heavy shooting stone near Panar bridge.

The conductor accompanying however escaped unhurt in the incident, they said adding the vehicle was bound for Uttar Pradesh.

SHO Surankote Rajveer Singh also confirmed the death of the person in the particular incident.

DTI Mughal road Mohammad Aijaz Mirza has in the meantime informed that the movement of heavy vehicles on Mughal road has been suspended till further orders. (GNS)
