The historic Mughal road connecting Poonch with Shopian via Pir Ki Gali has been closed for vehicular traffic by the authorities after higher reaches received season’s maiden snowfall on Sunday evening.
Unidentified officials told a local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that on Sunday evening, the higher reaches of Kashmir including Pir Panjal received season’s first snowfall.
“Severe slippery conditions have erupted over the road making the road accident prone following which it has been closed for traffic,” the officials said.
They added that barricades have been erected over the road at Poshana check post while no vehicle is being allowed to cross the point—(KNO)
