Flight operations have resumed at the Srinagar International Airport after remaining suspended for a few hours due to light snowfall and low visibility on Wednesday morning.

Airport officials confirmed to a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that flight operations have resumed at the airport and many flights have been rescheduled for the day.

“Flight operations at the airport were delayed because of light snowfall and low visibility in the morning,” the official said.

Earlier, Srinagar Airport authorities in a tweet had said: “Falling snow, mist and fog reduces visibility on the ground and in the air, snow and ice reduce braking action on runway which creates hindrance in flight operation.@Aaisnrairport team relentlessly on job amid snowfall. @AAI_Official.”

The official said that though the runway was cleared earlier, however, to get improvement in visibility it took some time for the resumption of flight operations. (KNO)
