A fire broke out in District Industrial Centre Kupwara on Tuesday evening causing damage to material stocked up in the building.
The fire broke out in the Aluminum Unit of the Centre in the Branwari area in the district.
Fire tenders assisted by locals doused off the flames, however, not before the fire damaged the upper portion of the unit.
In the incident, the material used in the manufacturing of banners, signage, and billboards was damaged.
When contacted, a police official confirmed the incident and said that a team has been deputed to the spot to gather available information. “The cause of mishap however wasn’t immediately ascertained”, the official added. (GNS)
