Srinagar: A brief exchange of firing took place between government forces and militants on Wednesday evening in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Reports said that the militants opened fire upon the patrolling party of army’s 50 RR. “The forces retaliated while intensifying the search operation near a nallah adjacent to a under construction building. The area falls between Dooniwari and Zinpora.

Reports said that the heavy firing lasted for around four to five minutes and there was a lull thereafter.

Meanwhile, sources said that additional reinforcement have been rushed to the area to find out the hiding militants. (GNS)
