A former police Head Constable has been apprehended after recovery of ammunition from him here in this north Kashmir district, officials sources said.

They said that the accused Jahangir Ahmad Khan son of Ali Khan, a resident of Dildar Karnah, was apprehended during a checking at ‘NC Pass’ Post here. On his searches, the forces recovered illegally held seven rounds of 7.62 cartridges (6 live and one blank), one round each of pistol, AK-47 and 5.56 cartridge from his possession, the official sources told GNS.

The accused police constable was already dismissed from services in year 2017, they said.

A case FIR number 62/21 under section 7/25 of Indian Arms Act has been registered into the recovery at Police Station Tangdhar and due investigations taken up, they added. (GNS)
