At least eight people were injured after a leopard attacked them in Damhal Hanjipora belt of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday afternoon. The leopard was later killed by the mob.

Officials told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among eight injured persons three were shifted to SKIMS Soura.

They said that a leopard attacked people at several places of D H Pora belt of Kulgam and injured eight persons and the leopard was later killed by locals.

“All the eight injured persons were shifted to district hospital Kulgam for treatment,” they said.

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Muzafar Zargar told KNO that the hospital received eight injured people among them three were shifted to SKIMS Soura for further treatment.

Wildlife in charge Kulgam, Imtiyaz Naik while confirming the killing of leopard by mob for self-defense said that the department also captured two bears in the Nandmarg area of D H Pora. (KNO)
